An indispensable part of today’s life is a credit card. The only thing is, now that I have cancelled my American Express credit card, I’ve lost access to so many things. Just ordering some clothes over the internet wasn’t possible and how basic is that in today’s world. The old days of cash being king are gone.

It’s now normal almost everywhere in the world to use your Mastercard, Visa or American Express to pay for goods or services you may not even need with money they do not have. Using your American Express credit card may be convenient but there is a cost for the convenience of paying at a later date. In many places around the world, credit card debts are increasing at a worrying rate. Today, credit card debt is one of the biggest worries facing us in America.

Canceling my American Express credit card was something I had to do as I much as I hated doing it. I found it too easy using my card and spending money that wasn’t mine to spend. I would charge everything and anything on it, and soon the costs would spiral out of control. I was in a right state when I finally admitted that I couldn’t pay the debt.

It took a debt consultancy specialist to finally get me back into a position where I actually started to pay my debt off. It was an awful situation I found myself in. Now, I have gotten my debt paid off and cancelled my American Express credit card. Don’t think I am making excuses when I blame my credit card because you are not taking into account basic human psychology.

You have more control when you see the cash actually coming out of your pocket. Credit cards make it too easy, especially because you rarely look at the cost. Just handing the card over time and time again, it is almost addictive. Now, there is no longer a problem because there’s no longer an American Express credit card.
